The mufflers of these kits features ROUSH's unique and innovative open-chambered design. This differs substantially from the conventional fiberglass-packing found in other mufflers. The result is a less inhibited sound, increased air flow (maximizing power), and increased longevity (there is no fiberglass that would break-down over time). Another great feature of this exhaust kit is the lack of the typical in-cockpit boom at cruising speeds found with most performance exhaust systems. Not only is the sound high-quality with the ROUSH Mustang Exhaust Kit, but the looks are as well. The tips are made from high-quality 304 stainless steel and are finished with a special chrome flashing process. The problem with conventional chrome plating is that the layers of bonded chemicals (which achieve its shiny appearance) are susceptible to cracking and flaking, especially when subjected to heat (as is found with an exhaust). The chrome flashing used in for this Mustang exhaust is bonded micro-porously to the metal surface. The result is a finish that is highly resistant to cracking from localized damage and heat color change. The inlet pipe and mufflers are made from 409 stainless steel for enhanced durability.

Roush engineers have full acess to our very own high-tech manufacturing and testing facilities, including a state-of-the-art semi-anechoic NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) lab. The Roush Active Exhaust gives drivers the ability to "tune" their exhaust note using an iOS application and vehicle parameters for virtually infinite sound possibilities. The system utilizes digitally controlled actuators that can be mapped through an OBD2-based Wi-Fi interface to adjust the exhaust flow. Engineer your own sound with Roush Active Exhaust.

Roush Active Exhaust is a state-of-the-art system merging technology to your Mustang in a way that has never been done before. Using our iOS application, you can choose the exact tone and volume of your exhaust based on speed and throttle position, making the Roush Active Exhaust the ultimate in vehicle customization.

The Roush Active Exhaust comes with three preloaded exhaust modes, Touring, Sport, and Track. While Touring mode will keep your exhaust volume to a minimum at all times, Sport kicks up the volume at certain points during driving, and Track is loud and proud all the time. The fourth mode, Custom, allows you to design your own tune.

Custom mode is where it really gets interesting. If one of the other three modes isn't suiting your taste, you have the ability to create your own via our user-friendly application. Allow your inner tuner to take the wheel: you want your Mustang to be super quiet leaving your neighborhood at 25 mph, but wake up every driver on the highway down the road? You can make that happen! It's super simple to create your own Custom tune. Simple enter the "Custom Turning" section of the application, and go to town on the graph on the screen. The deeper red each box is colored, the louder the exhaust volume, all the way up to 100% open. Want to keep it quiet? Color the boxes in those speeds and throttle positions blue to keep the exhaust closed and muted- all with the touch of a finger. Save your tunes to acces at a later date and share them with friends!

This Exhaust is only compatible with Mustangs equipped with the 2015 ROUSH Rear Valance - 421894 or 421919 (Requires Premium Chassis Package)

Installation requires cutting of the factory exhaust piping and adding the included secondary exhaust hanger. Once those modifications have been made to the factory exhaust system and the required Roush valance is installed, Installation is a simple bolt-in procedure.

When pairing this quad-tip axle-back from Roush up with any h-pipe or x-pipe resonator delete on the market, you will have to retain a small section of your factory exhaust to properly connect the two portions of your exhaust system.
